Professor David Levine from UCLA is one of the leading economists in the field of Game Theory. Log onto his web site: levine.sscnet.ucla.edu. Scroll down past his latest papers, search engine, and general interest until you reach the area where you can choose to play a game. Choose the Cooperative Learning Game, and read the directions. You will choose the Column Player's Strategy. Your payoff is the second number in the parentheses. The challenge is to try to get 6, although trying to get a payoff (C score) of 4 is also challenging. Play 20 rounds of the game.

This activity contains 3 questions.

	Do you think a different strategy could yield a higher payoff?   To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.

	If you were not able to reach a score of 4 or 6 in the last set of rounds, reset the game and play an additional 20 rounds of the game using a different strategy. What is the payoff you received after 20 rounds of the game?   To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.

	From the main page, choose the Zero-Sum Game Solver. Read the directions. The example from the directions is a zero sum game where the sum adds to zero. The Waldman/"Other Truck" ice cream location game (Table 6.1 in the text) is a zero sum game where the game sums to 100. Let's have the game solver solve the ice cream location game. Just as in the table, you will have three strategies. Only enter the payoffs to Waldman. Separate each strategy’s payoffs with a comma, and do not leave blank lines between the payoff numbers. After entering the game, Submit it for a solution. What is the solution? Does this coincide with the story the authors tell in the text? What happens if you add the strategies of locating the truck 1/4 of the way from the beginning and 3/4 of the way from the beginning (1/4 from the end). Add those Waldman payoffs to the game.
