Chapter Guide
The purpose of this chapter is to let you analyze genetic data as they are presented to you. Based on the data, formulate rules; then test the rules and look for exceptions that force you to modify them. Use this case study as a way to discover how genetics was used to understand the genomic mechanisms that cause this disease. The case study is written in the style of a short mystery that you as the reader must solve. Put yourself in the place of the physician who tries to help the children in the story.
