Is this Web site meant to replace a textbook?

No. A textbook is a valuable, comprehensive resource for students. The learning activities on this site have been designed as a valuable supplement to the core concepts presented in your textbook. (In fact, many of our contributors are also textbook authors.) The web’s interactive and media capabilities allow us to offer current research news, interactive activities, and movies, which a textbook can’t offer. You’ll find that this site will save you valuable time in locating relevant resources on the web.
